Last week, user Someshzade from Nexaracks reached out at LowEndSpirit. He wanted to know if I would be interested in running Benchmarks and testing out their new VPS. My reply was, hell yes! Withing a few minutes, he sent another message with the VPS details. Default operating system the VPS came with was CentOs, which was not to my liking. In Virtualizor Panel, the options available were : Ubuntu 16,04, CentOS, and Windows . I opted for Ubuntu, even though my personal preference is Debian if available. Anyways, were are not here to discuss the merits or lack of) Linux distributions.
A few months ago, I had run benchmarks on a VPS from Nexracks – Mumbai location (hosted on Leapswitch). Unfortunately, I lost the benchmark results (my fault entirely!). I had reached out to Someshzade via PM on LES – and had volunteered to run another set of tests. At that time, there were some other matters on their plate (as well as mine!). Over the weekend, I was contacted again on PM, and was asked if I would like to run some BM tests. My reply was, Hell Yes!“
A little bit about the VPS: Hosted on IoFlood in Phoenix, Arizona.
Add screenshots of the VPS, some basics. Disk speeds indicate SSD, network speeds to Asia (Tokyo,Singapore, HongKong are in single digits, so also in all European locations. iPerf3 gave relatively better results.
Lets do the basic tests

Concluding remarks and comments
Good speeds for Pune / Mumbai region (download and upload). Others in APAC region may want to check for respective locations. Overall a stock VPS with no surprises, which is not a bad thing. With the exception of Ubuntu 16.04 as the default, there were no other quirks. Connection was steady. Geekbench scores show the processor to be decent, nothing that will fly a rocket ship – so to speak.
The question(s) that need to be answered are:
a. What will be the price point(s) at which this VPS will be offered, and what configurations?
b. Long-term how will it perform?
This is not to question IOflood’s service or the intent of the provider, but too early to call it either ways. As far as the provider’s ability to communicate, customer support, bugs, error addressing etc are concerned- again no experience for VPS. I do have a shared hosting plan with them, but in the overall scheme of things, those are questions for which time can provide answers. To sum it all up, a new player in the market is always welcome!
